Weiss has more than 35 years of marketing experience on both the client and agency sides of the business and has witnessed the dramatic changes of the aging population. More than 17{996a0067a2ef9e05c4c765c3f2eddd6229568dd81b868c67202910a8b56ae36c} of the population is projected to be 65 and older by the year 2100.

“There are over 100 million adults 55 and over in North America who are consumers of products or services, yet despite this group accounting for over 40{996a0067a2ef9e05c4c765c3f2eddd6229568dd81b868c67202910a8b56ae36c} of all consumer spending, they are largely ignored or stereotyped in most marketing efforts,” Sandie Pierce said in a news release.

Pierce said Weiss has worked with major brands including Pepsi, Gillette, Dannon, KitchenAid and Unilever and understands why corporations are missing the boat on the over 55 crowd.

“He knows what’s necessary to take advantage of this largest and fastest growing segment in business. In his insightful and highly engaging presentation, Jeff will highlight the key reasons why getting older can be the best part of our life,” she said. “He will also discuss who older adults really are and why they are different compared to how society portrays them, and then reveal the ‘Dirty Dozen Myths’ associated with aging. By crushing these myths and breaking the stigma and stereotypes attached to older consumers, there is a significant opportunity to change how individuals, society and organizations see and engage older, active adults so that everyone benefits.”
