Interlakes Christmas Craft Fair coming Nov. 9
The Interlakes Community Centre (ICC) has announced the date for their Christmas Craft Fair as Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
ICC usually hosts some 25 tables offering everything from woodwork, and edibles including preserves and baking, to jewellery, knitted goods and myriad other wondrous creations, all making for a suitable Christmas present for everyone on your list.
One very popular expected vendor is Twisted Sisters Baking, whose menu is ever more extensive and includes cheesecakes now that they are operating from an inspected kitchen!
Condolences
Residents were saddened to lose two well-known and respected citizens in late August.
Bill Adams passed away Aug. 24 at the age of 76. Previously well-known as Chief of the Interlakes Volunteer Fire Department (IVFD) and a strong community supporter before his move into town, Bill will be missed by many friends. Deepest condolences are extended to his wife Elaine and their family. A celebration of life was held on Sept. 14.
And on Aug. 29, we lost Doug Canty at the age of 75, also a stalwart member of IVFD before ill health forced his resignation. Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife Pam and their family. There is to be no public service, but those who wish may donate to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC or Doctors without Borders.
Greetings
Belated birthday wishes are sent to Carney Myers and Dave McCaw; as are anniversary blessings for Natalie & Dave McCaw.
Birthday bubbly goes to Sharon Stewart, Pete Bonter and Joey Watson.
